Hizb 46
< random >
So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 They used to say before: 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
