And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would indeed have remained in its belly till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
