Hizb 46

And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And surely they used to say: 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
