Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 we are they that give glory. 166 They say, 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
