The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
