Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 So you and your deities 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 They used to say before: 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
