Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 They used to say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
