Hizb 46
< random >
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 he would indeed have remained in its belly till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 What, would they then say: 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
