And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. – 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 So they accepted faith – We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 What, would they then say: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
