88 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Moon (Al-Qamar) before A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Suad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition. 1 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 And they marvel that there should come unto them a warner from among themselves. And the infidels say: this is a magician and a liar! 4 "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" 5 And the chief persons of them break forth, saying: Go and steadily adhere to your gods; this is most surely a thing sought after. 6 We never heard of it in the former faith. It is surely a fabrication. 7 Hath the reminder been unto him (alone) among us? Nay, but they are in doubt concerning My reminder; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom. 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Or is it that the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? If so, let them ascend up with means (to the heavens)! 10 Here there is a host of the confederates only to be defeated. 11 Before them the people of Noah denied the truth, as did the 'Ad and Pharaoh of the Stakes, 12 and the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the Wood -- these were the confederates. 13 Of all these there was not one who did not deny the messengers. So My retribution was justified. 14

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
