Ever did he turn (to Us)! 30 When there were shown to him at eventide lightfooted coursers 31 he said: “Lo! I have come to love this wealth on account of the remembrance of my Lord.” And when the horses disappeared, 32 Then he said "Bring them (horses) back to me." Then he began to pass his hand over their legs and their necks (till the end of the display). 33 And verily We tried Solomon, and set upon his throne a (mere) body. Then did he repent. 34 He said, “My Lord! Forgive me and bestow upon me a kingdom, which shall not befit anyone after me; indeed only You are the Great Bestower.” 35 Then We subjected to him the wind: it ran gently by his command withersoever he directed. 36 and the Satans, every builder and diver 37 And others fettered in chains. 38 This is Our gift, so bestow thou or withhold, without rendering an account. 39 And he had a near place in Our presence and a fair resort. 40
