The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created the human 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
