And remember Our servant Job: when he cried to his Lord: “Behold, Satan has afflicted me with much hardship and suffering.” 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We bestowed on him his household and along with them the like thereof, out of mercy from us, and a remembrance unto men of understanding. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment. 46 and in Our sight they are of the chosen, the excellent. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 the Gardens of Eden whose gates shall be open to them, 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them are those of modest gaze, companions. 52 This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 Hell, in which they will burn. How vile a resting place! 56 Here is a boiling and an ice-cold draught, so let them taste it, 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 'This is a troop rushing in with you; there is no Welcome for them; they shall roast in the Fire.' 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And they will say: 'Why do we not see the men that we counted as being among the wicked in here? 62 Is it that we mistakenly made fun of them; or have they disappeared from our sight?” 63 Truly that is just and fitting,- the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire! 64
