(Muhammad) say, "I am only a warner. The only Lord is God, the Almighty. 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver." 66 Say: "This is a message tremendous: 67 [how can] you turn away from it?" 68 (Tell them): “I had no knowledge of the High Council when they were disputing. 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 When your Lord said to the angels: 'I am creating a human from clay, 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed My spirit into him, prostrate yourselves before him." 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 except Iblis. He waxed proud and became one of the unbelievers. 74 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?" 75 Said he, 'I am better than he; Thou createdst me of fire, and him Thou createdst of clay.' 76 He said: Go forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast, 77 And surely My curse is on you to the day of judgment. 78 Satan said: “My Lord, then grant me respite till the Day that they are raised up.” 79 He said: Surely you are of the respited ones, 80 Until the Day of the time well-known." 81 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "By Your Might, then I will surely mislead them all, 82 excepting those Thy servants among them that are sincere.' 83 (Allah) said: "Then it is just and fitting- and I say what is just and fitting- 84 That I shall fill hell with thee and with such of them as follow thee, together. 85 Say, "I do not ask you for any recompense for this, nor am I a man of false pretentions: 86 this is simply an admonition to mankind, 87 you shall before long know its truth." 88
