Forgiver (Ghaafer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ha Mim 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high of this divine writ issues from God, the Almighty, the All-Knowing, 2 The Forgiver of sins and the Acceptor of repentance. Stern in retribution, the Bountiful, there is no god except He and to Him is the arrival. 3 None dispute concerning the revelations of Allah save those who disbelieve, so let not beguile thee their going about in the cities. 4 Before them the people of Noah also gave the lie (to Messengers), and so did many parties after them. Each nation sallied forth against its Messenger to seize him, and they disputed with false arguments seeking therewith to repudiate the Truth. Then I seized them; and behold, how woeful was My retribution! 5 And this is how the Word of your Lord has proved true upon the disbelievers that they are people of the hell. 6 Those who bear the Throne and those around it exalt with the praise of their Lord and believe in Him. They ask forgiveness for the believers (saying): 'Our Lord, You embrace all things in mercy and knowledge. Forgive those who repent and follow Your Way. Shield them against the punishment of Hell. 7 Admit them, O Lord, to the garden of Eden which You promised them, and those of their fathers, spouses and progeny who are upright. You are truly all-mighty and all-wise. 8 And ward off from them ill-deeds; and he from whom Thou wardest off ill-deeds that day, him verily hast Thou taken into mercy. That is the supreme triumph. 9
