The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
