Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 A Book whose signs have been distinguished as an Arabic Koran for a people having knowledge, 3 Announcing happy news and warnings. And yet most of them are averse and do not listen, 4 They say: 'Our hearts are veiled from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is heaviness. And between us and you is a veil. So work (as you will) and we are working' 5 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. Therefore be straight with Him and ask Him to forgive you. Woe to the idolaters, 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 As to those who have faith and do good works, surely theirs shall be a never-ending reward. 8
