Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim: 1 This is the revelations from the Beneficent, Merciful God. 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 Giving glad tidings and heralding warning; so most of them turned away, therefore they cannot listen (to the truth). 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 Who give not the poor-rate; and they! in the Hereafter, they are disbelievers. 7 Lo! as for those who believe and do good works, for them is a reward enduring. 8
