Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high [of this revelation] issues from the Most Gracious, the Dispenser of Grace: 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 proclaiming good news and a warning. Yet most of them turn away and so do not listen. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 Those who give not the Zakat and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 Lo! as for those who believe and do good works, for them is a reward enduring. 8
