Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha Mim: 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 A Scripture whereof the verses are expounded, a Lecture in Arabic for people who have knowledge, 3 proclaiming good news and a warning. Yet most of them turn away and so do not listen. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say, "I am only a human being like yourselves. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God. So take the straight path to Him and ask His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate others with Him, 6 Who give not the poor-rate; and they! in the Hereafter, they are disbelievers. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
