And We gave Moses the Book; and there was difference concerning it, and but for a Word that preceded from thy Lord, it had been decided between them; and they are in doubt of it disquieting. 45 He who does good does it for himself; and he who does evil does so against it. Your Lord never wrongs His worshipers. 46 ۞ It is He who has the knowledge of the Hour of Doom and the fruits that will come out of their covering. He knows what the females conceive and deliver. On the day when the unbelievers will be asked, "Where are the idols which you considered equal to God?," they will reply, "We declare that none of us have seen them". 47 And there will fail them those whom they had been calling upon aforetime, and they will perceive that there is for them no shelter. 48 Man never tires of asking for the good things of life; but if evil fortune befalls him, he abandons all hope, giving himself up to despair. 49 And if We let him taste mercy from Us after hardship that has visited him, he surely says, 'This is mine; I think not the Hour is coming. If I am returned to my Lord, surely the reward most fair with Him will be mine.' Then We shall tell the unbelievers the things they have done, and assuredly We shall let them taste a harsh chastisement. 50 When We show favour unto man, he withdraweth and turneth aside, but when ill toucheth him then he aboundeth in prayer. 51 Say: "Tell me, if it (the Quran) is from Allah, and you disbelieve in it, who is more astray than one who is in opposition far away (from Allah's Right Path and His obedience). 52 We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Quran) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things? 53 In truth they are in doubt that they will ever face their Lord. Do they not know that He surrounds all things? 54
