Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much. 30 And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth. And you have not besides Allah any protector or helper. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 Had He wanted, He could have stopped the wind and let the ships remain motionless on the surface of the sea, in this there is evidence (of the Truth) for all those who are patient and grateful, 33 He may, while forgiving much of the sins of those that ride these ships, drown them on account of some of their misdeeds. 34 those who dispute Our signs shall learn that they have no escape. 35 Whatever you have been given is only a temporary provision of this life, but that which is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord; 36 And those who shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive. 37 Those who hearken to their Lord, and establish regular Prayer; who (conduct) their affairs by mutual Consultation; who spend out of what We bestow on them for Sustenance; 38 And those who, when great wrong afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 Let harm be requited by an equal harm. But whoever pardons and amends will find his reward with God. He does not love the wrongdoers. 40 And whosoever harms after he has been harmed there is no blame upon them. 41 Blame attaches only to those who subject people to wrong and commit excesses on earth. A painful chastisement awaits them. 42 But indeed if any show patience and forgive, that would truly be an exercise of courageous will and resolution in the conduct of affairs. 43
