Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 In high empyrean 22 its fruits are near. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
