Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the ancients. 6 And never came there unto them a prophet but they used to mock him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away. 8 If you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will answer: "The Mighty and All-knowing created them," 9 (It is) He who made the earth to be a cradle for you and made in it ways for you, in order that you are guided. 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 That has created pairs in all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 Hence, verily, it is unto Him that we must always turn." 14 And they allot to Him a portion of His bondmen! Lo! man is verily a mere ingrate. 15
