And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
