And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
