The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
