Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
