۞ Allah it is Who hath subjected the sea for your sake, that the ships may run thereon by His command and that ye may seek of His grace, and that haply ye may return thanks. 12 And He has subjected to you what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, all together, from Him. Surely in that are signs for a people who reflect. 13 Say, [O Muhammad], to those who have believed that they [should] forgive those who expect not the days of Allah so that He may recompense a people for what they used to earn. 14 Whosoever worketh righteously, worketh for himself; and whosoever doth evil, doth against himself; then unto your Lord ye will be made to return. 15 And assuredly. We vouchsafed unto the Children of Israil the Book and the wisdom and the propherhood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them above the worlds. 16 We gave them clear directions in matters pertaining to religion. Yet they differed among themselves (not out of ignorance but) after knowledge had come to them; and they did so out of the desire to commit excesses against one another. On the Day of Resurrection Allah will judge among them regarding what they had differed. 17 We have put you on the right way in the matter (of divine law). So follow it, and do not follow the wishes of those who are ignorant. 18 Surely they will not avail thee aught against God. Surely the evildoers are friends one of the other; God is the friend of the godfearing. 19 This [Book] brings enlightenment and guidance to mankind, and is a blessing for those who have firm faith. 20 Or do those who commit ill-deeds suppose that We shall make them as those who believe and do good works, the same in life and death? Bad is their judgment! 21
