Q (Qaaf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Qaf. By the glorious Qur'an. 1 Nay, but they marvel that a warner of their own hath come unto them; and the disbelievers say: This is a strange thing: 2 When we have died and have become dust, [we will return to life]? That is a distant return." 3 We know all that the earth takes away of them, and a Book of Records is with Us. 4 Nay, but they [who refuse to believe in resurrection] have been wont to give the lie to this truth whenever it was proffered to them; and so they are in a state of confusion. 5 Have they not then observed the sky above them, how We have constructed it and beautified it, and how there are no rifts therein? 6 And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and have produced therein every kind of lovely growth (plants). 7 as a lesson and a reminder to every penitent worshiper. 8 And We send down from the cloud water abounding in good, then We cause to grow thereby gardens and the grain that is reaped, 9 and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered dates, 10 As sustenance for the bondmen; and with it We revived a dead city; this is how you will be raised. 11 Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud, 12 The 'Ad, Pharaoh, the brethren of Lut, 13 And the companions of the thicket and the people of Tubba'. All denied the messengers, so My threat was justly fulfilled. 14 What, were We wearied by the first creation? No indeed; but they are in uncertainty as to the new creation. 15
