We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- 16 When the two receivers receive, sitting on the right and on the left. 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given). 20 Every soul will be accompanied (by an angel) behind him and another as a witness. 21 You were heedless of this. Now We have removed your veil and so your vision today is sharp. 22 His companion attendant will say, "I have here his record ready." 23 [Allah will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever, 24 "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 “The one who appointed another God along with Allah – so both of you fling him into the severe punishment.” 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 He shall say, 'Dispute not before Me! For I sent you beforehand -- the threat. 28 “With Me, the decree does not change, and nor do I oppress the bondmen.” 29
