We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 not even a word can he utter but there is a watcher with him, ever-present. 18 And [then,] the twilight of death brings with it the [full] truth that [very thing, O man,] from which thou wouldst always look away! 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 And his companion will say: this is that which with me is ready. 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 every hinderer of the good, transgressor, disquieter, 25 Who set up with Allah another god. So cast him ye twain into the torment severe. 26 ۞ His companion will say: O our Lord! caused him not to transgress but he was himself in error far off. 27 (It was said): “Do not remonstrate in My presence. I had warned you. 28 The judgment passed by Me shall not be altered; but never do I do the least wrong unto My creatures!" 29
