We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When both receivers (the angels) receive, one on his right, the other on his left, 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 Each soul shall come with a driver, and a witness. 21 (It will be said): 'Of this you have been heedless. Therefore, we have now removed your covering. Today your sight is sharp' 22 And his companion (angel) will say: "Here is (this Record) ready with me!" 23 "Cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 "Every obstructor of good, transgressor, and the sceptic, 25 “The one who appointed another God along with Allah – so both of you fling him into the severe punishment.” 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 (It was said): “Do not remonstrate in My presence. I had warned you. 28 The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. 29
