We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When the two (angels) who keep the account, one sitting on the right, one on the left, take it down, 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 And death's agony comes in truth; that is what thou wast shunning! 19 And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening. 20 Each soul will come with a driver and a witness. 21 (He will be told), "You were completely heedless of this day. We have removed the veil from your eyes and your vision will now be sharp and strong". 22 And one part of him will say: "This it is that has been ever-present with me!" 23 "Cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ His companion will say: "O Lord, I did not lead him to wickedness, but he was himself far astray." 27 [Allah] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning. 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
