Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
