Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
