Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
