Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
