Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
