Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
