Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ He said: "What is then your business, O messengers?" 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
