Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 But his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
