Hizb 53

AND HAS the story of Abraham's honoured guests ever come within thy ken? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 AND IN [the story of Pharaoh and] Moses, too, [We left the same message: for] when We sent him unto Pharaoh with [Our] manifest authority, 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
