Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 To send down upon them stones of clay, 33 marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." 34 So We brought out from therein the believers. 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
