Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ He said: "What is then your business, O messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 We saved the believers among them, 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
