Al-Dhaareyaat 3 of 3
And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander. 47 And the earth -- We spread it forth; O excellent Smoothers! 48 And of all things We created two mates; perhaps you will remember. 49 Hasten ye then (at once) to Allah: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open! 50 And do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner. 51 Similarly, whenever a Noble Messenger came to those before them they always said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 52 What, have they bequeathed it one to another? Nay, but they are an insolent people. 53 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them (Quraish pagans) you are not to be blamed (as you have conveyed Allah's Message). 54 And warn, for warning profiteth believers. 55 And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. 56 I seek no sustenance from them, nor do I want them to feed Me -- 57 For Allah is He Who gives (all) Sustenance,- Lord of Power,- Steadfast (for ever). 58 And indeed for these unjust is also a turn of punishment, like that of their companions – so they must not ask Me to hasten. 59 So woe to the unbelievers, for that day of theirs that they are promised. 60

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
