With power and skill did We construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace. 47 And the earth have We spread out wide - and how well have We ordered it! 48 And in everything have We created opposites, so that you might bear in mind [that God alone is One]. 49 Therefore, flee to Allah. I am a clear warner to you from Him. 50 and do not set up any deity with Allah. Surely I am a clear warner to you from Him. 51 Thus has it been (in the past): never did a Messenger come to the nations that preceded them but they said: “(He is) a sorcerer, or a mad-man.” 52 Have they, perchance, handed down this [way of thinking] as a legacy unto one another? Nay, they are people filled with overweening arrogance! 53 So leave them, [O Muhammad], for you are not to be blamed. 54 yet go on reminding [all who would listen]: for, verily, such a reminder will profit the believers. 55 And I have not created the jinn and mankind but that they should worship Me. 56 I seek no livelihood from them, nor do I ask that they should feed Me. 57 Surely Allah is the Bestower of all provision, the Lord of all power, the Strong. 58 The wrongdoers will meet the same fate as their predecessors, let them not ask Me to hasten on [the punishment], 59 Woe, then, betide those who disbelieved in that Day of theirs which they are being asked to hold in dread. 60
