The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Mount 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 On an open record. 3 by the House inhabited 4 and by the lofty vault of the sky, 5 And the sea kept filled, 6 The punishment of your Lord is certain to come. 7 there is none who could avert it. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is this magic? or ye still see not clearly! 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 The pious will live in bountiful Paradise, 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 The God-fearing shall be reclining on couches facing each other, and We shall wed them to maidens with large, beautiful eyes. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ They will be waited upon by immortal youths, like pearls hidden in their shells. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 'When we were among our people' they will say, 'we were ever fearful, 26 but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. 27 we were before ever calling upon Him; surely He is the All-benign, the All-compassionate.' 28
