The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount, 1 and a Book inscribed 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 by the House inhabited 4 and by the lofty vault of the sky, 5 By the sea overflowing. 6 surely, the punishment of your Lord is about to come, 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 Then woe, that Day, to the deniers, 11 Who, ignoring the Reality, engage in pleasantries. 12 That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 Is this magic or do you not see? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell-fire. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 And those who believed, and their seed followed them in belief, We shall join their seed with them, and We shall not defraud them of aught of their work; every man shall be pledged for what he earned. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with such fruit and meat as they desire. 22 and in that [paradise] they shall pass on to one another a cup which will not give rise to empty talk, and neither incite to sin. 23 ۞ They will be waited upon by immortal youths, like pearls hidden in their shells. 24 They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). 25 They will say: “When we were living before among our kinsfolk we lived in constant fear (of Allah's displeasure). 26 Then Allah graced us with His favour and saved us from the chastisement of the scorching wind. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
