Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed. 29 If they say, "He is but a poet; we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him," 30 Say (O Muhammad SAW to them): "Wait! I am with you, among the waiters!" 31 Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 32 Or do they say: "He (Muhammad SAW) has forged it (this Quran)?" Nay! They believe not! 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief. 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Do they have any god other than Allah? Exalted be Allah above whatever they associate (with Him in His Divinity). 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 Surely there are other torments besides this for those who are wicked, though most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
